Installing a new robotic line, without stopping production!
We’ve successfully completed the installation of a state-of-the-art robotic line at the same site as the previous system. This upgrade was executed with precision planning, allowing the old line to keep running while the new equipment was being assembled and commissioned.
The result? Minimal downtime, maximum efficiency. By managing the transition in parallel, we ensured continuous operations while introducing advanced automation that will significantly boost capacity and reliability.
At Nordic Recycling Systems (NRS), we are proud to have played a key role in the Heia 2 project, a significant expansion of Infinitum’s sorting facility. Our mission was the successful installation of a new, high-capacity processing line.

The video highlights the automated opening
of plastic bags and the handling of aluminum beverage containers.
The new line installed by NRS is a major milestone in Infinitum’s journey toward a fully automated Deposit Return System (DRS). Key impacts of our work include:
Increased Throughput: Substantially raising the facility's capacity to process beverage containers.
Automation: Moving a step closer to a touchless, fully automated sorting process for returned bottles and cans.
Sustainability: Enhancing the efficiency of the national recycling loop, ensuring higher quality material recovery
- Vision System
Our facility utilizes advanced AI vision systems to automatically identify and categorize items with extreme precision in real-time.- Recycling og bags
All bags are recycled into new bags as a high quality product.
